While this tournament established the definitive tournament method of play for doubles matches, where the 4 players each made a round as if in a four way and then collaborated for the last two rounds, it was originally not set in stone as to which players had to make which round in the initial 4 round rotation. Rather, in this tournament, pairs would decide which between them would make which round, whether for availability or strategic purposes. Going forward, a more established volleying order would be used in accordance to the listed line up, with these kinds of player switches only happening in cases of availability complications. | |||
