Unusually for a tennis tournament up to this point, the determination of matches fell back from the randomization used from the [[Tennis Cup]] onward and instead opted for a traditional bracket system, where the outcomes of the first lineup would define the matches of the following Lineups, thus making it more stylized after a real-life Cup. The only randomized lineup of matches would be for the first Set, determined by DaftPunkYoshi.

A running theme throughout this tournament was the repeated invoking of CD-i sources into matches, initially spurred on by Emperor Ing in the first set, and being seen for a good amount of the competition's first half. Due to the negative connotations made by the greater YTP community against CD-i YTPs edited in Windows Movie Maker at this time, this could be seen as the tennis community's way of creating a clever subversion of this stereotype.
