The [[Grey Tennis Tournament 2]] (or '''GTT2''') is a currently ongoing Video [[tennis]] tournament that commenced on May 15, 2026, co-hosted between {{TheChutley}}, who helmed the original [[Grey Tennis Tournament]], and {{Letycjusz S.}} and {{CRJ1}}. It is the 22nd tournament overall, the second tournament of the [[YellowTealPurple]] era, the sixth to technically be in a "Tennis Cup" format, and a revival of the original event which took place between late 2009 and early 2010. Distinctive of this event among other modern day tournaments was the decision made to keep it close-to-strictly like the original, down to the original old-school source limitations that were once common in organized tennis events. The voting account for this tournament is "King #DEDEDE", the familiar recurring antagonist of the ''Kirby'' series in a washed out monochromatic color scheme to match the hexadecimal hue within his designated name.

Signups were designed differently for this event to allow for more participants not on the YellowTealPurple forums to be able to sign up without necessarily needing an account on the site, and an initial threshold of 12 of the 32 participants were expressly reserved for either new players, or players who had not participated in the previous tennis tournament from the jump. This is the first tennis tournament to feature the participation of Ninja Weedle, {{Snorp}}, PureQuicksilver, NiccoGabri, spperson_, Ro502, AMAZINGBORYS11, Antonio Blue, AdamCrazyDude, DwakeAwaken, and Doubleitch. cheedle returned after having last participated in the [[Tennis League 4]], {{Metroid998}} returned after having last participated in the [[Doubles Cup 4]], and {{trepmaws}} and {{AshcrementVII}} both returned after having last participated in the [[Doubles Cup 3]], the former having previously missed his chance to join the [[3-Way Tennis Tournament 2]].

Returned early tennis figures {{strong414bad}} and Furnessly were also among those who actively spectated the event as it progressed, writing feedback about each match at their conclusions.

=Layout=

Like the original [[Grey Tennis Tournament]], it was designed very similarly to the first [[Tennis Cup]]. This included the choice made to retain the old-school source limits of early tennis event standards, with each round made within each match not being allowed to use or add more than three sources, as an added challenge for a generation of tennisers who had up to this point become conditioned in the 16 years that followed the original event with limitless source usage in their rounds. With source usage having become a lot more flexible in terms of the types of media that could be used in tennis responses, {{dani_phantump}} drafted up a post in YellowTealPurple's "Video Tennis Rules" thread that specifically stipulated what counted as one source used and what didn't. The 5 day turnover time of modern standard was retained, and round time limit returned to the old standard of 20 seconds minimum to 3 minutes maximum. - 3 Votes for going over the 5-day limit 
- 2 Votes for incorrect source usage (using over 3 sources). 
- 2 Votes for incorrect time length (under 20 seconds, over 3 minutes). 

Signups filled out completely in under 2 hours, leading to some discussion about participant limits becoming a very visible restriction in the present day. The [[Grey Tennis Tournament 2]] (or '''GTT2''') is a currently ongoing Video [[tennis]] tournament that commenced on May 15, 2026, co-hosted between {{TheChutley}}, who helmed the original [[Grey Tennis Tournament]], and {{Letycjusz S.}} and {{CRJ1}}. It is the 22nd tournament overall, the second tournament of the [[YellowTealPurple]] era, the sixth to technically be in a "Tennis Cup" format, and a revival of the original event which took place between late 2009 and early 2010. Distinctive of this event among other modern day tournaments was the decision made to keep it close-to-strictly like the original, down to the original old-school source limitations that were once common in organized tennis events. The voting account for this tournament is "King #DEDEDE", the familiar recurring antagonist of the ''Kirby'' series in a washed out monochromatic color scheme to match the hexadecimal hue within his designated name.

Signups were designed differently for this event to allow for more participants not on the YellowTealPurple forums to be able to sign up without necessarily needing an account on the site, and an initial threshold of 12 of the 32 participants were expressly reserved for either new players, or players who had not participated in the previous tennis tournament from the jump. This is the first tennis tournament to feature the participation of Ninja Weedle, deepfryer, PureQuicksilver, NiccoGabri, spperson_, Ro502, AMAZINGBORYS11, Antonio Blue, AdamCrazyDude, DwakeAwaken, and Doubleitch. cheedle returned after having last participated in the [[Tennis League 4]], {{Metroid998}} returned after having last participated in the [[Doubles Cup 4]], and {{trepmaws}} and {{AshcrementVII}} both returned after having last participated in the [[Doubles Cup 3]], the former having previously missed his chance to join the [[3-Way Tennis Tournament 2]].

Returned early tennis figures {{strong414bad}} and Furnessly were also among those who actively spectated the event as it progressed, writing feedback about each match at their conclusions.

=Layout=

Like the original [[Grey Tennis Tournament]], it was designed very similarly to the first [[Tennis Cup]]. This included the choice made to retain the old-school source limits of early tennis event standards, with each round made within each match not being allowed to use or add more than three sources, as an added challenge for a generation of tennisers who had up to this point become conditioned in the 16 years that followed the original event with limitless source usage in their rounds. With source usage having become a lot more flexible in terms of the types of media that could be used in tennis responses, {{dani_phantump}} drafted up a post in YellowTealPurple's "Video Tennis Rules" thread that specifically stipulated what counted as one source used and what didn't. The 5 day turnover time of modern standard was retained, and round time limit returned to the old standard of 20 seconds minimum to 3 minutes maximum. The old standard of Match Forfeit protocol from previous tournaments in a Cup format also returned. Voting returned to a strict point by point basis, with similar harsh penalties for the following:

- 3 Votes for going over the 5-day limit 
- 2 Votes for incorrect source usage (using over 3 sources).

Mir is a plugin that's intended use is for generating 3D fractal terrain. However it can be very easily manipulated to do many kinds of 3D fractal distortion. In Mir 3 and newer, you can also import 3D models to work with as well.

===Setting Up for Textures===
Because of Mir's intended use case, the defaults already have it set up for fractal terrains. However when working with textures this may not be an ideal starting point. Set the following values to prepare it for working with textures.

* In the "Geometry" category, set the "Size X" and "Size Y" to the X and Y of the layer you are using. If using Mir 3 or newer, make sure "Size" is set to "XY Individual" is enabled so these can be changed.
* In the "Texture" category, set the "Texture Layer" to the layer of choice (usually the layer the effect is applied to.)
* In the "Fractal" category, set "Amplitude" to 0.
* In the "Material" category, set "Diffuse Holdout" to 0.
* In the "Shader" category, set the "Shader" to Smooth, "Blend" to "Normal" and "DepthBuf" to On.

The [[Match of the Day]] or '''MOTD''' is a program created by the [[Tennis Staff]] starting on November 2, 2025 to showcase various notable [[tennis]] games around the community, both past and present. Usually, every day a member of the staff offers to select a match which is posted to the Tennis Café as well as a dedicated channel in [[The Tennis Isles]] at the start of the day. These matches are usually compiled to channels like {{maniafax}} (if not done already) so players can watch the whole game in a single video.

The concept originated from a plan by {{dani_phantump}} to show a different match every day to {{infinitysnapz}}, who admitted to being unfamiliar with a lot of old tennis matches due to often keeping off of YouTube, and was soon after expanded into a regular community activity as a way to create a new bridge of knowledge with the history of tennis.

The winner of this tournament was {{Yottifferent}}, which was decided a day after winning the [[3-Way Tennis Tournament 2]] and after the opponent {{snorp}} dropped out.

=Rules=
The primary rule is to only use the Kapwing video editor. Continuing from the YellowTealPurple thread:

"This tournament will consist of 8 participants, a single elimination bracket, with a turnover of 4 days, because frankly there is no need to take more than a week for a video like this. Participants may only use Kapwing to serve and volley with, no other programs are allowed, and make sure to put your tournament threads in the tournament section. If someone drops out mid-set, people are free to sign up as a replacement to sub in for them."
