[[LieutenantGwo vs. pilli10]] was a [[Youtube Poop]]/[[Video tennis]] match that took place between on the [[YouChew]] forums between August 1 and 27, 2009. One of multiple "Robotnik" tennis matches to occur between the four-way collective of LieutenantGwo, thechairman45, pilli10 and PresidentOfJelybeans between 2009 and 2010, it is the only one of these matches to receive documentation on these forums, and was the first of two tennis encounters between these two players. LieutanentGwo would subsequently play PresidentOfJelybeans and thechairman45 following this exchange, [[thechairman45 vs. PresidentOfJelybeans|those two players would also face each other]], and thechairman45 would also face pilli10 before all of them attempted a 4-way in August 2010 that lasted six rounds. With both players being furries, the titles of the match tell a story in which Robotnik embarks on a quest to have furry sex, initially struggles to get himself in the mood, before finally achieving his goal in a silly, somewhat unusual fashion. Each round starts with a direct title card intro to dictate what round of the match it is and which player its directed toward. Editing over the previous round is usually confined to the beginning or first half of each round, with the second half being dedicated to further added ''AoSTH'' footage that makes more minute uses of previous moments in the match, and most feature a "joke" "Sonic Says" segment containing one final concentrated moment before showing the end credits overdubbed with a different song, as was typical of ''AoSTH'' YTPs in this period. The [[Grey Tennis Tournament 2]] (or '''GTT2''') is a currently ongoing Video [[tennis]] tournament that commenced on May 15, 2026, co-hosted between {{TheChutley}}, who helmed the original [[Grey Tennis Tournament]], and {{Letycjusz S.}} and {{CRJ1}}. It is the 22nd tournament overall, the second tournament of the [[YellowTealPurple]] era, the sixth to technically be in a "Tennis Cup" format, and a revival of the original event which took place between late 2009 and early 2010. Distinctive of this event among other modern day tournaments was the decision made to keep it close-to-strictly like the original, down to the original old-school source limitations that were once common in organized tennis events. The voting account for this tournament is "King #DEDEDE", the familiar recurring antagonist of the ''Kirby'' series in a washed out monochromatic color scheme to match the hexadecimal hue within his designated name.

Signups were designed differently for this event to allow for more participants not on the YellowTealPurple forums to be able to sign up without necessarily needing an account on the site, and an initial threshold of 12 of the 32 participants were expressly reserved for either new players, or players who had not participated in the previous tennis tournament from the jump. This is the first tennis tournament to feature the participation of Ninja Weedle, deepfryer, PureQuicksilver, NiccoGabri, spperson_, Ro502, AMAZINGBORYS11, Antonio Blue, AdamCrazyDude, DwakeAwaken, and Doubleitch. cheedle returned after having last participated in the [[Tennis League 4]], {{Metroid998}} returned after last participated in [[Doubles Cup 4]], and {{trepmaws}} returned after having last participated in the [[Doubles Cup 3]], having previously missed his chance to join the [[3-Way Tennis Tournament 2]].

=Layout=

Like the original [[Grey Tennis Tournament]], it was designed very similarly to the first [[Tennis Cup]]. This included the choice made to retain the old-school source limits of early tennis event standards, with each round made within each match not being allowed to use or add more than three sources, as an added challenge for a generation of tennisers who had up to this point become conditioned in the 16 years that followed the original event with limitless source usage in their rounds. With source usage having become a lot more flexible in terms of the types of media that could be used in tennis responses, {{dani_phantump}} drafted up a post in YellowTealPurple's "Video Tennis Rules" thread that specifically stipulated what counted as one source used and what didn't. The 5 day turnover time of modern standard was retained, and round time limit returned to the old standard of 20 seconds minimum to 3 minutes maximum. The old standard of Match Forfeit protocol from previous tournaments in a Cup format also returned. Voting returned to a strict point by point basis, with similar harsh penalties for the following:

- 3 Votes for going over the 5-day limit 
- 2 Votes for incorrect source usage (using over 3 sources). 
- 2 Votes for incorrect time length (under 20 seconds, over 3 minutes). 

Signups filled out completely in under 2 hours, leading to some discussion about participant limits becoming a very visible restriction in the present day. Round 2 of the chain, TangerineImpz's "NO, IT'S LOUD!"(2007), was one of the 33 Round 2's sampled in GameBop's "Seconds, Anyone?"(2010), their serve for [[GameBop vs. Sploltoen vs. MycroProcessor|their match with Sploltoen and MycroProcessor]] in the [[3-Way Tennis Tournament]].

[[ophios vs. RAKninja]] was a [[Youtube Poop]]/Video [[tennis]] match played as a part of the [[Tennis Cup]], taking place between June 16 and June 21, 2008. It was played as a part of the Set 2 lineup of matches, in which ophios had previously defeated Luioigi and RAKninja had been given a bye when Gallers dropped out after his Round 3. "Important to note that before this match, with a few minor exceptions, there really wasn't such a thing as slowness, ambience, or eerieness within this medium. ophios sets the stage for this in what can be seen as his most experimental and groundbreaking serve he would probably ever make, and RAKninja returns it in kind, leading to an exchange that at its time was truly extraordinary in an era where tennis still mostly operated on one speed. It was for some people the match that got them into wanting to play tennis themselves, as well as one that influenced multiple people's approaches in future matches to take place.

For his run in the first Tennis Cup, ophios truly had the Midas Touch. All rounds continue to survive in their original uploads, though RAKninja's rounds were privated for a time in the early 2010s.
